I made a new quinoa salad tonight and was unsure how it would turn out and did not say I had concocted it myself until Aaron gave it the thumbs up. He is always suspicious when I branch out on my own... not that I can blame him! :)
So now we have three super nummy super healthy quinoa recipes and I am feeling confident enought to try another recipe I have been thinking of next week. We have the traditional quinoa salad (recipe provided by my Sister Mary- THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU again!), the fiesta quinoa salad, and now the sweet quinoa salad. My sons have been converted to the 'everything tastes better with green tabasco sauce' theory and so Aaron and I watched with concern as Gideon doused his meal with it. He pronounced it excellent and was calling it the 'SUPER quinoa salad'. Aaron and I declined a generously offered spoonful. Our only comment was " you have to eat all you take." Surprisingly he did.
Obviously, I am happy about this endeavor as I am not naturally talented in the kitchen. Or the garden for that matter- anything to do with food comes slowly to me. But give me a messy office with paperwork and procedures to organize and I am in my element. Fortunatley, Aaron makes up for my lack of cooking talent and so if he really needs a good meal he can satisfy that himself! :)
Line upon line, precept upon precept- I am hopeful I am improving! Here is a lovely picture of the dish...
