Belated Halloween Pictures

Well, here they are- the promised Halloween picts! :)
I was dismayed to see what shape the costumes were in after being in the playroom since Halloween- I hope they have been enjoyed as much as they have been abused! The boys were excited to have their pictures taken in them. Jacob went first and is a very serious subject. When Gideon's turn came up I couldn't figure out why I couldn't take any pictures with the camera. It turned out the batteries were dead (I shouldn't have been surprised with the amount of picts I have been taking the past few days and also using it at the Cub Scout pack mtg last night.) So Gideon ran around in his dragon costume while the batteries charged. Until he suddenly had to go to the bathroom (it only happens suddenly for our boys.) The dance and jig he performed trying to get out of his costume fast was hillarious. Finally an hour and a half later the batteries were juiced up. Gideon really got into character and spent the whole time growling and showing his 'claws.' Most of the shots I got of him were with his eyes closed because the flash was too bright for him. Once Hyrum wiggled into his costume he decided the growling was fun too, so although not really appropriate for a caterpillar, we nontheless have a fiesty one. :) Hope you enjoy the pictures! I spent two crazy days and sleepless nights sewing them. When I asked the boys what they wanted to be for Halloween I hardly imagined the responses. Pterodactyl and Dragon were the instant responses and they never wavered. They were tall orders, but I admit I wanted to show off to Aaron that I could do it despite his raised eyebrows. The hardest part was getting the dragon wings to stay up and I finally begged a large piece of styrafoam from a Seattle Lighting store, cut it to shape, opened up the dragon back, crammed it in there, sewed it back up, and stuck the dragon wings down into it. This solution is already not working well, but it lasted for the Halloween night and the boys came back with a good loot. If any of you have any prior knowledge of my competetive Halloween costume contest ego, you will be glad to know there was no such contest at the party this year so the family was able to just enjoy all the fun and not have Mom (me) shoving them foward all the while pretending to not really care about the outcome while privately gloating that I would win for sure- and then heaven forbid I not win, be bitter and question the judges eyesight! :):):) ...and you think I'm joking! So all went well! I just now realized that I didn't get picts of Ammon in his monkey costume. I will get those added hopefully tomorrow. Have a great weekend! May happy pterodactyls, dragons, caterpillars, and monkeys fill your dreams!

Your Halloween Costumes are AMAZING! You would definitely win any contest I would see you in. The problem is that if it was an individual contest, which one of your boys would win. I could see reasons for each of them but would probably vote for Gideon's dragon costume. Nice work!
